Welcome to SalaryTruth. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of salarytruth.vercel.app and the calculators, articles, and other content available through the site (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What we offer

SalaryTruth is a free, browser-based tool that helps salaried professionals in India estimate their in-hand salary, compare cities, evaluate offers, plan hikes, and explore related tax topics. All calculations are performed inside your browser using the inputs you provide. We do not require an account, and we do not store the figures you enter.

2. Important disclaimer — not professional advice

The Service is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not, and must not be relied upon as, financial, tax, legal, investment, or career advice.

• Salary, tax, and deduction figures shown by our calculators are estimates based on simplified models, sample data, and the tax slabs we have implemented. Real take-home pay depends on your specific employer policies, basic-to-CTC ratio, allowances, declared investments, state of employment, and other variables outside the Service’s scope.
• Tax rules, professional-tax rates, and other regulations change frequently. We do our best to keep the Service current but make no guarantee that every figure reflects the latest law.
• Before making financial, employment, or tax decisions, please consult a qualified chartered accountant, tax adviser, or other appropriately licensed professional.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable Indian or international law;
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service or its infrastructure (for example by scraping at abusive rates, denial-of- service attempts, or attempting to bypass security mechanisms);
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise try to extract the source code of any non-public component of the Service;
• Reproduce, republish, or commercially redistribute large portions of our content without written permission.

4. Intellectual property

All original text, design, layout, code, and graphics on SalaryTruth are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may view, share, and link to our pages for personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote short excerpts with attribution. All other uses require our prior written consent.

5. Third-party links and advertisements

The Service contains advertisements served by third parties (including Google AdSense) and links to third-party websites such as job portals, learning platforms, and financial-product comparison sites. Some of these are affiliate links from which we may earn a referral fee at no extra cost to you. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, accuracy, products, or practices of any third-party site. Your interactions with those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available and accurate, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, modify, or remove features, calculators, or articles at any time without prior notice. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SalaryTruth and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — including, without limitation, any reliance you place on calculation outputs, articles, or third-party content surfaced through the Service.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SalaryTruth and its operators from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to check this page periodically.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in India.
